Morbid Visions – Cavalera / Sepultura -Drumcover

It’s great that the Cavaleras have re-recorded their debut album! Now I finally know what the songs were meant to be … 😉 Morbid Visions is the debut album by the Brazilian metal band Sepultura. It was recorded in August 1986 and released on LP in the same year. The music is raw, primitive and aggressive and has been described in reviews as both death metal and black-metal-influenced thrash metal and compared to Sodom and Kreator. The lyrics, written in simple, grammatically incorrect English, refer to Satanism and war. Max Cavalera stated that the inspiration for the songs came mainly from books about black magic and answered the question of whether Sepultura saw themselves as a satanic band in the affirmative. Satanism is the best topic for a death metal band, he said, adding that he loves to study witchcraft and the like, leaving other topics like politics to the punks.

Domination ist das vierte Studio-Album der Florida Death Metal Legenden Morbid Angel, aus dem Jahre 1995. Das war das erste Album mit Erik Rutan und David Vincent verlies die Band danach das erste Mal.
Es war mir eine schweißtreibende Ehre einen tiefen Blick in das Drumming von Pete Sandoval zu werfen.
Dieses Album ist und bleibt ein zeitloser Klassiker!

Obituary – Barely Alive – Drum Cover

Im Alter von 13 Jahren kaufte ich meine allererste Death Metal-Kassette. Es war “The End Complete” von Obituary.
Dementsprechend bekomme ich immer noch Pipi in den Augen, wenn die alten Herren wieder einen vom Stapel lassen.
Vor allem, wenn es in Sachen Brutalität und Groove keine Wünsche offen lässt, so wie in deren neuestem Werk “Dying of Everything”.
Florida Death Metal at its best!
Somit konnte ich nicht anders, als den Opener auf dem Schlagzeug zu lernen. Der macht unglaubliche Spaß zu spielen!

Weil es einfach ein toller Anime ist und meine Partnerin mich vor kurzem sowieso mit Postpunk infiziert hat …
Dieser Song wurde 2004 von Franz Ferdinand auf ihrem selbstbetitelten Debütalbum veröffentlicht und ist nun durch den Anime zum Computerspiel Cyberpunk 2077 wieder bekannt geworden. Wahrscheinlich auch, weil es derzeit ein Postpunk-Revival gibt.
